HOA2 Committee Updates

Finance – Duff Fletcher, Liaison

  • First draft of budget available on the website.
  • 5-year plan under review.
  • Establishing an investment account with Fidelity.

Golf – ?

  • Mountain View closed until October 7th.
  • Preserve will close for 3 weeks after MV opens for overseeding.
  • Wayne Clark, new head professional, has started.

Fitness, Wellness & Recreation (FWR) – Andrea Gray, Liaison

  • Grandkids Day is the day after Thanksgiving.
    • Sign-up available; corn hole games, pickleball, swimming and other activities are being planned.  

Common Area Management (CAM) – Jeff Depka, Liaison

  • Updating CAM policy to be submitted to the board this month.

Architecture & Landscape (ALC) – Shawne Cryderman, Liaison

  • Joint committee with ALC and Rules & Regs to review political sign rules for upcoming elections.
  • Dark Sky presentation on October 24th, 2–4 PM at Desert View Theater.
    • Discusses the dark sky ordinance and potential fines.

Roundtable / Q&A Session

  • Golf rates for 2025 are available in the Monday Message and Tuesday Golf Message.
  • County installed 4 streetlights on SaddleBrooke Blvd. there is concern these are violating the dark sky mandate as well as annoying homeowners in the area.
  • Waste Management in the Preserve is dropping broken glass during recycle pickups on the streets.
    • Residents are encouraged to report issues: 1-800-596-7444.

Unit 36 Update

  • Unit 36, the largest unit in HOA2, is splitting into 3 sections: Yellow, Orange, and Blue.
  • Lori Hill will retire as Unit Rep this year.
    • Successfully recruited 2 new unit reps and 1 deputy; seeking a third volunteer.

  • Saddlebrooke Cornhole Club Grand Opening
    • November 1st, 2:30-5 PM at Desert View Pavilion.
    • New courts behind Desert View Theater; refreshments available.
    • Membership: $25 annually; all are welcome!

    • November 7, 2024, 2:00-3:30 PM, Sonoran Room at MVCC.
    • Guest speaker: Senior Village at SaddleBrooke.
