Summary of Recent Discussions and Recommendations:

  1. Tee Time Booking for Annual Members:
    • The goal of current rates is to encourage more play from both residents and outside guests, and to promote annual memberships.
    • The board is considering how to handle tee time bookings for groups where only some members have annual passes.
    • The recommendation is that if at least 50% of a group holds an annual pass, the entire group should be able to book tee times 14 days in advance.
  2. Preserve Course Refurbishment:
    • There was debate on whether to refurbish the Preserve course over one year, two years, or four years.
    • Factors considered include loss of playtime, golfer fatigue, contractor availability, supply logistics, community impact, and funding availability.
    • The board prefers a single, continuous refurbishment if it can be completed in under 8 months, as this is typically more cost-effective and simpler with the least negative impact on revenues.
    • If the project would exceed 8 months, a two-year plan with 5 months of construction each year during the summer is preferred once again based on funding availability.
    • The addition of forward yellow tees is seen as essential to make the course more accessible to a broader range of golfers and to boost play and revenue.
    • The Golf committee seems to be in support of coming up with a plan for golfers funding some of the wants that might go beyond simply  maintaining the course.
