1. Introduction of New Pro

  • Wayne Clark has been introduced as the new Pro.

2. Superintendent Update

  • The Preserve Superintendent has left.   Actively seeking a replacement.
  • Interim Management: Mike K and the new agronomist will manage Preserve crews.
  • Also  we are two crew members short on the MV course.

3 Sales and Merchandise Concerns

  • Mike K will meet with the Troon retail advisor to address:
    • Sales performance: Currently far below budget (not even half).
    • Excess inventory: Merchandise is not aligning with resident preferences (targeting 25-35 age group).
    • Action: Mike K will conduct a survey to determine member preferences.
    • Pickleball retail: Currently not selling.
    • Comparison: HOA1 shop averages about $300K per year; we are significantly below this figure.

4. Marketing Initiatives

  • Mike K is collaborating with Troon Marketing to send out emails announcing new rates.  hope to get them out this week.
    • Urgency: HOA1 has had their announcements out for 3 weeks.
  • 2025 Golf Season: Begins November 1st.

5. Fall Plantings Update

  • Status: Fall plantings are behind schedule.
  • Deadline: Hydro-seeding must be completed by the end of the month or early November for proper germination.
  • Uncertainty: No set date for previously promised plantings.

6. Check-in Procedure Changes

  • Controversy on the requirement that all golfers must check in at the golf shop before heading to the course.
    • Challenges: This has not increased retail sales and is causing frustration among golfers, particularly at the Preserve.

7. Marketing Opportunities

  • Suggested to leverage marketing when over seeding at HOA1 by promoting our two courses are open.
  • suggested to use comparison so members can see the value of the canyon card

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Discussion on various KPIs for golf; Lee will develop these.

9. Volunteer Opportunities

  • Exploring options for volunteer residents to assist with course maintenance (e.g., rock picking from bunkers).
  • Previous initiatives were well-received, and residents expressed interest in more involvement.

10. New Homeowner Golf Information

  • Debbie is working to ensure new homeowner golf information reaches the right people in a timely manner.
  • Further discussions will be held with Mike K.
